Safety

Online, Unfortunately reviews uploads before discovery and provides consent, reporting, blocking, and account-deletion controls.

Last updated August 3, 2026

01

Review before discovery

New uploads stay pending until a moderator approves them. We may also remove content later if new context or a report shows that it breaks the rules.

02

Anonymous browsing

Discovery shows the post, not the creator’s profile. That reduces appearance-first decisions and keeps personal details out of the initial feed.

03

Consent before chat

Three reciprocal sparks make chat eligible. Both people must then opt in. A spark never means consent to sexual activity, off-platform contact, or a meeting.

04

Private reports, immediate blocks

The person you report is not told who reported them. Blocking removes both accounts from each other’s discovery and conversation surfaces immediately.

Offline safety

Meeting someone in person

Stay in the app while you are getting to know someone. Never send money or financial information.

Meet in a public place, arrange your own transport, and tell someone you trust where you are going.

Leave if you feel pressured or unsafe. You do not owe politeness, an explanation, or another chance.

If someone threatens immediate harm, contact local emergency services. The app is not an emergency service.

Adults only

Members must be 18 or older.

Online, Unfortunately is only for people aged 18 and older. Report a suspected underage account immediately. We may suspend it while we review.
